Independent financial advisers insist, quite rightly, that even simple life products like term assurance can be complicated - if, for example, you are a single parent and need to have the policy written in trust - and that advice is essential. But clearly they are not getting to the people who need this advice. Research from Co-operative Insurance reveals that 47% of people in the UK are without any form of protection insurance.
